Sometimes I wonder why it's never a hate crime when somebody shoots white people. Does that bother anybody else?

It's just an intellectual question, not something I worry about. Emotionally, it doesn't matter to me whether somebody kills me because of my race or kills me to steal my wallet—the pertinent detail is that I'm dead.

But, intellectually, I find it mind-boggling that liberals can survive the wrenching cognitive dissonance of accepting every phony, shrill, substanceless accusation of "hate crime" that involves minorities, liberals, or other favored "victim" groups while ignoring the obvious, pure, certain examples which involve white, male, or conservative victims.

On August 3, 2010, a bitter little weasel of a man named Omar Thornton was fired from Hartford Distributors, a beer distributor in Manchester, Connecticut. It was not an unjustified firing. They had photos of him stealing beer and photos of him selling the beer and photos of him pocketing the money.

They were nice enough to let him resign to avoid the firing, which would have been helpful as far as getting another job. "Fired for stealing" is never a nice thing to have on your resume.

Omar's reaction was to grab a gun he brought to work specifically for the occasion and go on a white-killing rampage though Hartford Distributors, and then call his mommy and blame it on white people's racism. Yeah, that's right, the little guy called his mommy afterward to make excuses. He said somebody drew a racist picture on the bathroom wall. He said somebody used the "n" word (also in the bathroom). Those are hate crimes, by golly! Omar was the victim, not the bad guy!

"It's not my fault, mommy!"

This might be the first bogus hate crime ever invented after the fact to justify a real hate crime.

Unfortunately for Omar's excuses, he told nobody else at the company about his racism complaints, some of the people he killed have led the kind of exemplary lives that preclude the idea that they might be secret sheet-wearing Klansmen, and, even if somebody was a racist at Hartford Distributors, the appropriate punishment for offending Omar is not death. Duh.

He was hired one year, promoted to driver the next year, caught stealing a year later, and fired. He screwed up a great job and took it out on everybody else because he wasn't man enough to own his mistake. That's all there is to it.

Omar Thornton exemplifies the gutless, take-no-responsibility, victim culture engendered by the philosophically bankrupt notion that there is something called a "hate crime" which is somehow worse than a regular crime. Ironically, if there really is something which could justifiably be called a hate crime, this murder spree is it.

Don't hold your breath waiting for liberals to admit it.
